Dr. Suzanne, Ph.D.
Dr. Suzanne Malia Lawrence is a graduate of the University of Tennessee’s Applied Sport Psychology Ph.D. (2001) program. She also earned her M.A. (1997) from San Diego State University in Exercise and Nutritional Sciences and her B.A. in Psychology (1993) from University of Hawaii. Suzanne is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City. She is a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP) through the American Association of Natural Wellness Practitioners (AANWP).
Suzanne offers Holistic Health Practitioner services for doctors and chiropractors to refer patients. She offers a holistic approach in supporting her clients in their overall wellness. She supports clients with nutrition, sleep, meditation, relationships, exercise adherence, energy healing, and behavior modification programs.
Suzanne has extensive consulting experience working with athletes on performance enhancement. She has valuable experience consulting with collegiate athletes from a variety of sports such as tennis, baseball, basketball, golf, and softball. She also serves as a Mentor for Sport Psychology Interns and is on the AASP Registry of Approved Mentors.
Suzanne is also an online Part Time instructor in the Kinesiology Department at California State University Fullerton. She reached Full Professor rank at Azusa Pacific University in 2010.
Suzanne grew up playing a wide variety of sports such as basketball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and cross country. Suzanne was a Division I softball player for the University of Hawaii. Her primary softball position was pitcher, and she became a pitching coach. She enjoyed a 10 year-long softball coaching career, at the height of her coaching career she was an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Professional Softball League.

She specializes in teaching applied sport psychology techniques such as imagery, relaxation, breathing exercises, self-talk, and goal setting.
She takes a holistic approach to coaching her clients. She utilizes resilience training and behavior modification in assisting her clients to enhance their quality of life and overall wellness.
She has a passion for wellness consulting as she encourages self-empowerment, self-reliance, and independence. She practices active listening and interviews her clients with a phenomenological approach.
She emphasizes the significance of spirituality, self-confidence, social relationships, diet/nutrition, and exercise/meditation habits.
